Your Ride, When You Need It

Darrell and Bob 3123.jpg

We partner with counties, cities, and human service agencies to deliver reliable, cost-efficient rides that support seniors, veterans, the unhoused, and others who need it most.

🚨 New as of September 1, 2025: Discounted Ride Club

In response to increasing demand — and the absence of public transportation support in many communities — Common Courtesy has launched a new Discounted Ride Club model that provides direct ride fare reductions for eligible individuals.

We’ve partnered with private donors to cover part of the ride cost — because if cities and counties won’t fund critical mobility, we will.

With the Discounted Ride Club, riders now receive:

  • $5 off the cost of every ride (up to $10 trips)

  • No fees for dispatch assistance through our TLCs

  • Simple monthly billing via a secure card on file

  • All the benefits of our trusted Uber and Lyft integration — without the tech hassle

This change reduces barriers for people trying to access food, healthcare, housing, and essential quality-of-life services.

What is Ride Club?

Ride Club is Common Courtesy’s flagship rider program — designed to provide low-cost, reliable rides for people who cannot or should not drive, due to age, health, disability, or limited access to public transit.

We’ve built a human-centered, data-backed system that supports:

  • Seniors and veterans

  • Medically fragile individuals

  • People exiting homelessness or incarceration

  • Low-income residents of underserved areas

Rides are arranged using Uber & Lyft, with live support from our dispatchers (TLCs). No apps. No downloads. No complicated tech. Just a phone call and a working mobile number.

Over the last 8 years, we’ve delivered more than 950,000 rides — safely and reliably — to hospitals, clinics, senior centers, shelters, grocery stores, pharmacies, and more.

How the New Ride Club Works

Step 1: Register

  • New riders pay a one-time, lifetime fee of $25

  • Already registered with another CCR program? Join Ride Club for just $10

  • All riders must have a working mobile phone (no smartphone required)

Each rider receives:

  • A unique Rider ID

  • A Welcome Packet with ride instructions and dispatch info

  • Eligibility for the $5-per-trip discount

Step 2: Schedule a Ride

  • Call our toll-free message center to schedule your trip

  • Leave your name, rider ID, date/time, pickup, and destination

  • Use the provided script in your Welcome Packet for clarity

Step 3: Receive Confirmation
Our Travel Logistics Coordinator (TLC) will:

  • Confirm your ride by phone or text

  • Send you the driver’s name, car type, and license plate number

  • Follow up as needed to coordinate any changes

Step 4: Ride

  • Drivers typically arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled pickup time

  • No cash exchanges — fares are charged to your card on file monthly

  • Your $5 discount is automatically applied

Step 5: Return Trip

  • Call again or coordinate in advance for a round-trip

  • Notify dispatch if your plans change — we’ll help reschedule

What You Pay

  • You pay only the actual Uber/Lyft fare, minus $5 per ride

  • No extra charges for using our TLC dispatchers

  • No app, no tech, no login — just phone access

  • You are billed once per month, automatically, through a securely held credit card

Example: If your ride costs $8.00, you only pay $3.00.
If your ride is $12, you pay $7.00.
